Texas Truck Driver Arrested for Drunk Driving
Truck driver, Jerel Jermaine Jessie of College station was charged with driving while intoxicated after swerving and speeding onto the shoulder on Texas 21, authorities reported.
Jessi, 40 years old, was charged for driving under the influence for more than three times, now faces a third-degree felony and a possible 10 years serving in prison.
Jessi was released on Wednesday after submitting to a $10,000 bail from Brazos County Jail.
Police were informed by a Scott & White Hospital ambulance of an 18-wheeler truck driver speeding up to 85-90 mph on Texas 21 and Texas 6 intersection.
Police eventually intercepted the commercial vehicle, when it pulled into a parking lot of a gas station. Police reported that they could smell alcohol on him after conducting a sobriety test. Jessie was sent to the St. Joseph Hospital to conduct a blood sample, only to have vomit on the hospital grounds during a search warrant authorization.
Reports have claimed that Jessie has been convicted of drunk driving in 1999 and 2001.
