Man loses control of the car, leaving a 4-year-old survivor
A fatal accident occurred in Grand Prairie, leaving one man dead and leaving behind a 4-year-old stepdaughter that survived the crash.
The traffic accident happened in the morning of Thanksgiving when the man idientified as Keith Cleveland, 35-years-old of Grand Prarie, was driving a 1991 Nissan Pathfinder heading southbound on SW Third Street near the Dickney Road.
Police investigators said that Cleveland lost control of the vehicle, crossed the streets striping and was struck by a 2005 Hyundai. The driver of the Hyundai was identified as Sheila Morris, 34-years-old, of Grand Prairie and suffered few injuries.
The Pathfiner vehicle rolled two and a half time, that ejected Cleveland and stopping the vehicle upside down, said police. Cleveland was pronounced dead at the scene of the car accident.
His 4-year-old stepdaughter survived the crash, having to be secured to her safety seat and only sustained minor injuries.
According to police, she was taken to the Children’s Medical Center Dallas.
Grand Prairie authorities are investigating the cause of the collision and why the vehicle lost control. The recent accident is the the 11th traffic fatality in Grand Prairie this 2013 year.
