One person died and another was injured after a head-on collision near Jacksonville on Tuesday.
The accident happened about 8:30 a.m. on Texas Highway 204, near Loop 456, outside the city limits.
Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Chaney Wade said a 2012 Chrysler 200 collided with a 1995 Nissan pickup going the opposite direction.
No other details about the circumstances were immediately available.
One driver, in his late 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene by Cherokee County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Judge Brenda Dominy. The pickup driver was listed in fair condition Tuesday evening at East Texas Medical Center.
