A fatal wreck has halted southbound traffic on U.S. 281 on the North Side.
The wreck is in the vicinity of Brook Hollow Boulevard and is blocking all southbound lanes on 281. Vehicles are being diverted onto the access road.
A child died and another child and an adult were injured in the wreck, officials said.
The accident occurred when an SUV slammed into the rear end of a tractor-trailer that had pulled over to the right side of the highway and stopped, officials said.
The injured adult was airlifted to a hospital.
