SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
One person has died in a three-vehicle accident in Smith County.
Around 11:45 am on Monday, DPS and paramedics responded to an accident involving a semi-truck and a motorcycle on Bascom Road north of County Road 2220.
According to The Department of Public Safety, Derek Simoneaux, 26 of Corpus Christi, was traveling southbound on FM 848 in front of his wife, Marciela, in a Honda Accord.
Derek struck the trailer of a northbound Freightliner, and was then struck by the Honda Accord.
Derek is originally from Chapel Hill.
