Fatal 2-vehicle car accident in Trinity Co.

A fatal car accident occurred in Trinity County involving two vehicles Saturday morning.

The Texas Department of Public said in an accident report that Branden Ray Sangster, 24 of Cleveland was pronounced dead 7 a.m Saturday. Reports indicated that Sanfster was not wearing a seatbelt at that time of the accident occurred.

It was said that about a mile south of Trinity around 5:50 a.m, a 2006 Toyota Camry driven by Amanda Danielle Lofton, 25, of Trinity, was travelling westbound on FM 356 when Sangster 2004 Nissan Altima crossed the center line, causing both vehicles in a head-on collision.

The DPS reported that Sangster was killed immediately during the accident.

Both drivers were evacuated to a hospital in Houston. Lofton faced critical condition. Lofton's passenger, Charles Tims III, 20 of Tyler, is also in critical condition in a Bryan hospital.
