Central Texas Rain Crash

Rain was likely a factor in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night that left one person dead on State Highway 21 near the Brazos River west of Bryan.

Elizabeth Abrams, 20, of Plano, who was driving a car east on Highway 21, evidently lost control of the vehicle after hydroplaning on the wet road, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.

The car veered into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.

Abrams died in the crash.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the DPS said.

Further details weren’t immediately available.
