Early morning car accident claims the life of a Houston passenger
When people in Texas get behind the wheel of a car, there is always the possibility that danger could befall them. Because so many people are on the road and conditions can change in an instant, the possibility for injury in a car accident is, unfortunately, never far away.
An accident occurred earlier this week in Houston that claimed the life of a passenger in a vehicle that was hit from behind. There did not seem to be any adverse weather conditions at the time -- just a confluence of factors that led to the unfortunate incident.
A Toyota sedan was stopped on the road in order to make a left turn. A Ford sedan was trailing the Toyota in the same lane when it struck it from behind. The driver of the Ford later told police that he did not realize that a car had stopped in front of him because a car approaching him from the opposite direction had its headlights on in the predawn hours and it obscured his vision.
It was not clear from initial reports if the car that was turning had its headlights on or if its turn signal had been activated. However, it is incumbent upon a driver to realize that another car is in his lane and blocking the way.
People in Texas who have lost loved ones in car accidents as the result of negligence on the part of another party often consult with an experienced motor vehicle accident attorney to determine their next steps and assess if bringing a lawsuit would be beneficial.
