Tyler Truck Wreck Ends in Fatality
Police in Tyler are investigating a early Thursday morning accident, in which a woman was struck while trying to cross a major roadway and was killed by a Ford F-250 pick-up truck, just before 7:00 a.m.
Investigation are going on as the Tyler Police Department as they determine how the accident happened.
Reports say that police responded to a reference when a Hispanic woman was crossing the road way and was hit by a Ford F-250 pick-up truck on the 1400 block of East Gentry Parkway around 6:58 a.m. Thursday, January 30th.
Authorities later released the identity of the victim as Minerba Esmeralda Moreno-Barron, age 35-years-old, of Tyler. Moreno-Barron died from the injuries she sustained in the accident and was transported to a local hospital nearby.
Moreno-Barron was said to be crossing the East Gentry, heading eastbound, when she was struck by the pick-up truck from the inside lane of a southbound traffic early Thursday morning. Moreno-Barron at that time was not using the crosswalk that was provided for pedestrian traffic, that was approximately 90 feet from the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Ford F-250 pick-up truck who hit Moreno-Barron was later identified as Esteban Segura Cruz, age 42-years-old from Tyler. Cruz was driving the Ford F-250 Pick-up and was not reported to have sustained any car-wreck injuries. Cruz was later not to be found at fault in the accident.
