Bizarre Fatal Accident Demonstrates Need for Caution After Collisions
Texas woman killed by her own car early Sunday morning around 2:30 am, in an accident when her car hit a barrier, she got out to check the damages.
The authorities say that a witness saw the woman, who remains unnamed, was driving on the Houston interstate when she lost control of her vehicle and hit the concrete barrier. She got out of her car to see the damages done on her Chevrolet Impala on the North Loop, westbound of the interstate, when a black Kia sedan rear-ended her vehicle, causing the Impala to strike her down.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the fatal car accident.
Authorities have ordered a test to determine if she was impaired before the auto accident. The driver of the black Kia, Richard Arroyo, 24 years old, was arrested on the suspicion of driving under the influence.
Alcohol related crashes has risen up to 4.6 percent in 2012, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Last year on average, every 51 minutes would a fatal accident occur related to alcohol. On average, being killed by an impaired driver is doubled the on weekends by 39% than the on weekdays 15%.
